- Gather your spare tire, jack, and tire iron.
- Use the tire iron to loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire, then use the jack to lift up the vehicle about six inches.
- Carefully remove the lug nuts and the damaged tire.
- Place your spare tire on the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
- Gently lower the vehicle and use the tire iron to finish tightening the lug nuts.
Once you’re finished, put your tools and the bad tire back into your vehicle, carefully pull back onto the road, and make a service appointment as soon as possible.
